Canadian Wage Growth
A graph comparing USA to Canada's wage growth:
The ups and downs compared to the USA's line is more to do with union contracts than some wild ride that is Canada's wage setting.
Wage growth broken down by union coverage, gender, and type of permanency shows an odd mixture of who is getting wage gains right now.
It is hard to read, but men in temp jobs are getting larger wage gains in the previous year than anyone else.
The largest share of wage gains are in the non-union sectors showing that it is market tightness that is driving wage gains more than union militancy.
